About Me

Headquartered in Strongsville, Ohio, Don came to the company in the capacity of Underwriter in 1998 and was promoted to Operations Manager in 2000. Don graduated from Lakeland Community College in 1990 and was awarded his Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation in October of 2006. He is a licensed Operations Manager for the company and holds Loan Officer Licenses in several states.

Don’s career in the mortgage industry started in 1979 performing “field collection work” for an independent mortgage banker. In 1984, he began working for Charter One Bank and held numerous positions within the organization ranging from Loan Service Rep., Underwriter, Mortgage and Consumer Credit Manager and Construction Loan Manager. Don worked for Charter One Bank for 14 years until he left to join Union Home Mortgage in 1998.

In the capacity of Operations Manager, Don is responsible for the day to day management of the mortgage assembly line from loan submission through final documents. Don participates in the Leadership Committee which is responsible for strategic planning, implementation and execution of corporate initiatives. He also participates in the Growth and Profitability Committee (G.A.P.) which was established to set profitability and net worth goals while maintaining accurate forecasts. In addition, he is on the Risk Committee, which is responsible for ensuring corporate risk thresholds are not exceeded.

Don works very closely with the Compliance and Risk Managers to ensure that the company is in compliance with State and Federal regulations. He chairs a Committee responsible for improving the quality of our loan production.

Don’s free time is active with spending time with his wonderful wife and two beautiful children. Together, they enjoy traveling, watching movies and eating out and Don keeps himself busy by coaching his son’s baseball team and being a loyal Browns fan.
